Premier Tape Products, Inc. purchased the hot melt equipment and technology from Fortifiber, a well known and respected west coast manufacturer. Fortifiber's tapes used tri-directional scrims to produce flatter and tighter carpet seams. Premier purchased numerous textile knitters to manufacture "knitted" scrim as well as "state of the art" laminating equipment to properly merge scrim to paper. Premier has a complete line of woven scrims with specially formulated silicone releasers to every front of tape and uses an exclusively custom blended hot melt adhesive that is low odor and smoke.
